I love vintage and antique pieces that speak to me. Pieces that make me smile when I walk through a room. Pieces that make me feel a sense of the past. Pieces that blend together to make a house a home.
For me, I have vintage and antique items in every room but in addition to those, I have things that are family treasures, new and old. The pictures of my grandchildren, the drawing my granddaughter did for us, the special Christmas gift from my daughter, etc. I also have my mom's 8" round baking pans that are so "used" from making those Miracle Whip cakes for everyone.
It's not the value of the older things that makes me want to have them in my home. It's their past and their hidden stories. I feel I have given someone's treasures from the past new life again.
When you visit my shop or another one, be drawn to what you love for the "soul" of the item, not the value in today's market and enjoy and love the item.
In this picture, you see new and old but they come together in the room. Go to an antique shop, walk and around and be drawn to a special piece or two.
